Interdistrict Transfer (Outside of District)

Interdistrict transfers are transfers to schools outside the HJUHSD district (i.e. live in Hanford but would like to attend Lemoore High or Laton High). If you live in another town/district and want to attend an HJUHSD school, you need to start the Interdistrict Transfer process at your district of residence.   Intradistrict transfers are transfers that take place within the HJUHSD district (i.e. between Hanford High, Hanford West, and Sierra Pacific). For Intradistrict transfers, see this page. Please note that transfers are not required if the student is interested in transferring to Hanford Online Charter. To process a transfer to Hanford Online Charter, call 559-583-5941 ext. 7601.

    • Parent/guardian may also appeal the HJUHSD decision to the Kings County Superintendent of Schools within 30-calendar days of the denial.

  • Any failure of a parent/guardian to meet any timelines established by the district shall be deemed an abandonment of the request.

  • Revoked or rescinded interdistrict transfers:
    • All interdistrict approvals are conditional upon students following all school rules and regulations; this includes good attendance (90% attendance and no more than ten (10) tardies), appropriate behavior (no more than ten (10) discipline points per semester and no Level C offenses) and satisfactory academic performance (maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA). In the event of a problem in any of these areas, the HJUHSD may revoke this interdistrict agreement.

  • Interdistrict transfer is valid only for the school year granted and must be renewed annually.

  • Approval is subject to space availability in the district of desired attendance and may not be at the requested school site.
