Chamber Singers


Course Description:
This is an auditioned mixed ensemble of advanced soprano-alto-tenor-bass singers.   This is a co-curricular class with expectations of participation outside of the school day.  Throughout this course students are taught advanced music theory and college level classical music repertoire.  Thorough understanding of vocal technique is expected.  This course involves performance in all school choir concerts, festivals, community and honor choir events. Ensemble and solo activities are designed to develop elements of musicianship including, but not limited to, tone production, technical skills, intonation, music reading skills, listening skills, analyzing music, and studying historically significant styles of literature. (Eve/weekend practices/performances are part of the grade.)

How is this course assigned?

Teacher approval and 1 year in Soprano/Alto Choir, Tenor/Bass Choir, or other singing ensemble as a prerequisite
