Ceramics & Sculpture 1
Course Description:
This course will provide students with a fundamental understanding of clay and glaze, as well as the process used to transform these materials into ceramic artworks or functional ware. Students will experiment with various materials, methods, and techniques to fabricate 3-dimensional designs with a focus on clay as a medium. Clay techniques include Pinch, Coil, Soft Slab, Hard Slab, wheel thrown, and combinations of these techniques. Students will present their artwork and be expected to talk and about critique their own work as well as their peers in order to better understand the creative process, final product, and audience perception.

Students must have passed Art 1 as a prerequisite
