Course Description: This course explores the physical and chemical nature of soil as well as the relationships between soil, plants, animals and agricultural practices. Students examine properties of soil and land and their connections to plant and animal production. Additionally, students develop and present a capstone soil management plan for agricultural producers, demonstrating their knowledge of the soil chemistry content learned throughout the course. Throughout the course, students are graded on participation in intracurricular FFA activities as well as the development and maintenance of an ongoing Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program
Introductory Courses: These are typically the first or second classes in a Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway. While not mandatory, they are recommended to help students get started.
Concentrator Courses: The next step in the pathway, this course is required before taking the final (capstone) course. Completing this sequence is necessary to be recognized as a CTE completer.
Capstone Courses: The final class(es) in the pathway. To be a CTE completer, students must take both the concentrator and capstone courses. Students who complete a CTE Pathway will be awarded with a graduation cord.
