Medical Diagnostic Technology 1b: Exploring Systems & Procedures

Course Description:

Our bodies are complex, and when we start feeling ill, a doctor or specialist must analyze and diagnose what could be wrong. Learn about different diagnostic technology, procedures, essential body systems, and fluids that need to be understood to make an accurate diagnosis of a disease, condition, or illness. This career field is flourishing, and now is the time to be part of it! This is a semester course.

English (English 1, 2, 3, and 4 or equivalents): 40 units
History/Social Science (World History, U.S. History, Government & Economics, or equivalents): 30 units
Mathematics (including Common Core Math): 30 units
Science (Biological and Physical): 20 units
Visual & Performing Arts / Career Technical Education / Language Other Than English: 20 units
Physical Education (required for 9th and 10th grade): 20 units
Electives: 105 units

CTE Legend:

Introductory Courses: These are typically the first or second classes in a Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway. While not mandatory, they are recommended to help students get started.
Concentrator Courses: The next step in the pathway, this course is required before taking the final (capstone) course. Completing this sequence is necessary to be recognized as a CTE completer.
Capstone Courses: The final class(es) in the pathway. To be a CTE completer, students must take both the concentrator and capstone courses. Students who complete a CTE Pathway will be awarded with a graduation cord.
