Course Description:

This advanced course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in web design and development. Students will develop an in-depth understanding and use of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, layout techniques, and other industry-standard practices.

History/Social Science (World History, U.S. History, Government & Economics, or equivalents): 30 units
Mathematics (including Common Core Math): 30 units

Visual & Performing Arts / Career Technical Education / Language Other Than English: 20 units
Physical Education (required for 9th and 10th grade): 20 units
Electives: 105 units

Web & Social Media Programming & Design Pathway

CTE Legend:

Introductory Courses: These are typically the first or second classes in a Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway. While not mandatory, they are recommended to help students get started.
Concentrator Courses: The next step in the pathway, this course is required before taking the final (capstone) course. Completing this sequence is necessary to be recognized as a CTE completer.
Capstone Courses: The final class(es) in the pathway. To be a CTE completer, students must take both the concentrator and capstone courses. Students who complete a CTE Pathway will be awarded with a graduation cord.
