This course catalog is your guide to exploring the exciting academic opportunities available at Hanford Joint Union High School District (HJUHSD). Inside, you’ll find detailed information about courses, academic policies, and tips for planning your high school experience.

HJUHSD includes seven schools:

  • Hanford High School (HHS)
  • Hanford West High School (HWHS)
  • Sierra Pacific High School (SPHS)
  • Earl F. Johnson Continuation High School (EFJ)
  • Hanford Community Day School (CDS)
  • Hanford Online Charter School (HOC)
  • Hanford Adult School (HAS)

At HHS, HWHS, and SPHS, you’ll discover a wide range of college-prep courses, electives, and extracurricular programs like athletics, band, choir, theater, yearbook, student newspapers, and clubs—something for everyone! EFJ offers personalized instructional plans for 11th and 12th graders, while HAS supports adult learners (18+) working toward a diploma or vocational training.

A typical high school schedule includes seven classes per semester (35 credits). All freshmen will take English, Math, and Science based on placement, plus Physical Education. Your remaining courses should reflect your interests and future goals—our counselors are here to help you make the best choices!
