Enrollment/Registration
Enrolling or registering your student for high school is an important process as you want to make sure your student is set up for absolute success. Parents/guardians can use the information below to enroll their students into HJUHSD. If you are looking to enroll in the Hanford Adult School, please visit here for more information.
Incoming Freshmen
HJUHSD realizes that registering your incoming freshman is an exciting but intimidating time. We strive to make this important event as seamless as possible. Below is a timeline of important events and dates to be aware of when registering incoming freshmen for the 2026-27 school year.
If you are unsure of which school boundary you live in please visit our attendance boundaries webpage for directions on looking up your address.
Click here to view our 2026-27 Course Catalog.
For those not interested in the traditional educational experience, consider HJUHSD"S Hanford Online Charter "HOC". You may contact HOC at 559-583-5941.
Incoming Freshmen coming from a Hanford middle/elementary school such as:
- Crossroads Charter
- Hanford Elementary School District
- Hanford Christian
- Kings River Hardwick
- Kit Carson
- Lakeside
- Mid Valley Charter
- Parkview Middle
- Pioneer Middle
- St. Rose McCarthy
…we will receive your student’s details and contact you about the high school registration process. This means you don’t need to submit enrollment forms (such as a student’s birth certificate and such) because we will receive that information from the middle/elementary school.
Incoming Freshmen coming from a middle/elementary school outside of Hanford will need to complete our Aeries Online Enrollment process before we can include them in communication regarding registration. That process can be found here and should be completed as soon as possible.

Enrolling Students
Enrolling Students
The Aeries Online Enrollment tool allows you to quickly enroll your student into the Hanford Joint Union High School District. Information about the student such as emergency contacts, medical and language information will be collected. Upon completion, the student's enrollment request will be sent to the school. To get started, read the steps below and then click on Begin Enrollment at the bottom of the page.
STEP ONE - Determine attendance boundary
The first step is checking which HJUHSD school boundary you live in. You can find directions on how to do this here. Students are required to enroll at the school of residence. If students are interested in attending an HJUHSD school outside of the attendance boundary, they will need to put in for an intra-district transfer AFTER the enrollment has been processed at the school of residence. If your student does not live in the HJUHSD attendance boundary at all but would like to attend an HJUHSD school, you will need to put in an inter-district transfer request BEFORE your enrollment can be processed. You can read about school transfers here.
STEP TWO - Gather documents
During the enrollment process, you will need to upload several documents. This process will require:
- Photo Identification of the Parent/Legal Guardian (driver's license/ID)
- Guardianship/Custody paperwork (if applicable)
- THREE forms of address verification: Note: “Current” means bills or statements within the last 30 days OR other items from the most recent year and not expired.
Document #1 - ONE from the following list:
♦ Current vehicle registration with parent/guardian name and address
♦ Current W-2 Tax forms with parent/guardian name and address
♦ Current pay stub - employer & employee name and address must be imprinted or Passport to Services document with name and address.
Document #2 - ONE from the following list:
♦ Original Property Tax Bill with parent/guardian name and property address
**To request a digital copy of your most recent Property Tax bill from the Kings County Assessor's Office, at (559) 852-2486. Property owners who lease or rent their property relinquish their right to residence and may not use that property for their own student’s attendance. For the purpose of residence, property must include an actual registered and livable residence. It cannot be a vacant lot, a business, or farmland.
♦ Tenant’s copy of Rental or Lease agreement with minimum of parent/guardian name and address, as well as manager’s or owner’s name and phone number. Our student information system recognizes any duplications in residence with both current and past students. Any system alert that recognizes two residents in one property will be required to share additional proof of actual residence including frequent checks of documents and possible residence visits.
Document #3: - ONE from the following list:
♦ Current proof of Homeowner’s Insurance with current resident/owners name listed or current Renters Insurance Policy with resident’s name listed for rental/lease agreements.
♦ Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), or Southern California Gas (SoCalGas) bill, statement, or account confirmation with parent/guardian name & address.
♦ Current water bill with parent/guardian name and address
**If your rental agreement states that utilities (PG&E, SCE, SoCalGas) are included, then one of the following can be used:
♦ Monthly Bank statement with parent name and address
♦ Monthly Cable bill with parent name and address
- Birth Certificate (proof of student's age)
- Immunization Record (we can request from prior school if needed)
- Prior School Transcripts (we can request from prior school if needed)
If you don't have these documents in an electronic format and you do not have access to a scanner, you can simply take a picture of the document and upload it that way. Just ensure the picture includes the whole document and is clear. You will not be able to submit your enrollment request without uploading the required documents.
STEP three - valid email address
You will need a valid email address in order to complete this process. If you do not have an email address, please click here to create a free Gmail account.
Once you have completed all three steps you can start the enrollment process. Click on Begin Enrollment to access the Aeries Online Enrollment tool.
