Proposed Increase in Level 1 Development Fees
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Boards of Trustees of the Hanford Joint Union High School District, the Hanford Elementary School District and the Armona Union Elementary School District will conduct public hearings on a proposed Development Fee Justification Study to allow for the increase of Level 1 development fees. The hearings will be held at the follow dates and times:
Hanford Joint Union High School District: Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, at the District Board Room, located at 823 W. Lacey Boulevard, Hanford, California.
Hanford Elementary School District: Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, at the District Office Board Room, 714 N. White Street, Hanford, California.
Armona Union Elementary School District: Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Armona Community Center Building, District Office Board Room, 11115 C Street, Armona, California.
FUTHER TAKE NOTICE that following the public hearings, the Boards will consider a resolutions to adopt the Development Fee Justification Study and increase the Level 1 development fees to the new state statutory maximums of $4.79 per square foot for residential development and $0.78 for commercial/industrial development. (The fees currently charged are $4.08 per square foot for residential development and $0.66 for commercial/industrial development.) In non-unified districts, the fees are split between the elementary and high school districts with the elementary districts receiving 60% of the fees and the high school district receiving 40% of the fees. The development fees will be used for the purpose of funding the construction or reconstruction of school facilities.
The Development Fee Justification Study with the data supporting the increase of the fees will be available for review no later than May 13, 2022, on the websites of the Districts and at the District Offices, as follows:
