Wellness

The Insurance Committee, with the assistance of the insurance providers, offer several wellness opportunities each year.  These opportunities include wellness challenges each Fall and Spring that are open to all employees; and, biometric screenings for those insured on the medical plan.  Our providers also send out newsletters each month that are shared with staff.

Flex Spending Account

The FSA (Flex Spending Account) can be used to pay for eligible medical expenses, and the DCA (Dependent Care Account) can be used for qualifying child care for eligible dependents.   Both are pre-tax deductions from your pay and are available to all HJUHSD employees.

Your FSA contribution is loaded onto a Benefit Card which functions like a credit card.  The full annual contribution is available on day one.  Eligible expenses for the current plan year must have a service date of September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024.

Your DCA contribution is reimbursed to you as eligible expenses occur and you submit for reimbursement.  You can only be reimbursed an amount up to what is available in your DCA account based upon your monthly contributions.

The District utilizes services from American Fidelity Assurance Company for FSA and DCA services under IRS Section 125.  Enrollment is available each year at Open Enrollment time, or within the first 30 days of employment with the District.  Participants may access their benefit information online or on the American Fidelity Mobile App.  American Fidelity portal
