Mrs. Kristen Snyder

Mrs. Synder joined the Sierra Pacific High School counseling team in July of 2015. Prior to becoming a Golden Bear, she was a counselor at Hanford High School for 19 years. She graduated from Fresno State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She then went on to attend Fresno Pacific University, earning a Pupil Personnel Services credential in school counseling and a Master of Arts degree in education. As an alumnus of both Armona Parkview and Hanford High, Mrs. Synder feels honored to be serving today's youth in her community.

Mr. Mario Gutierrez

Mr. Gutierrez came to Sierra Pacific High School as a counselor in the fall of 2013. He was a counselor at Hanford High School and Earl F. Johnson prior to becoming a Golden Bear. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal studies and his Maters of Arts in counseling with a Pupil Personnel Service credential from CSU Fresno. Mr. Gutierrez is honored to be serving the parents and students of Sierra Pacific High School.

Mrs. Sandra Espinola

Mrs. Espinola started her career as a high school counselor in 2015 at Sierra Pacific High School. Prior to Sierra Pacific, Mrs. Espinola was an adjunct counselor and teacher at College of the Sequoias. She graduated from CSU Fresno with a Bachelor degree in Psychology, and a Masters degree in counseling and Student Services with a pupil personal services credential. Mrs. Espinola is an alumni from Hanford High School and is proud to be a part of her community working with students.

    Concurrent Enrollment at COS or WHC

    What Do I Do?

    Juniors and below - In order for you to take classes at College of the Sequoias or West Hills College there are a number of things that need to be done.  I will try my best to explain what you need to do and give the resources to complete all the needed parts.  

    Directions for College of the Sequoias: 

    #1.  You will need to complete the ONLINE APPLICATION at whichever school you are going to be taking a class. You can access the Colleges application via the program by doing the following:  

    • Log into
    • Go to - College (top of page)
    • Select - California Community Colleges Application
    • Select Community College from drop down list
    • Launch
    • Create an Account
    After creating your account..

    #2. You will need to download, fill out and digitally sign the correct PDF's to get permission from Sierra Pacific to take the class.  The forms are available by clicking on the link below.  That link will take you to the Google Folder.  You will then download and save the permission forms (The HJUHSD form and the College form). Once you fill out and sign the forms and have your parents sign the forms, you will need to email it to your counselor for approval. 

    #3.  Email the forms to your counselor for approval.  Once they have given their approval to take the class or classes, they will email the form back to you with their signatures.

    #4. You will then email ONLY the College Concurrent Enrollment/Dual Enrollment form to the COS rep and they will use the form to add a code so you do not get charged for the class and then they will enroll you in the class.  You will then be contacting the rep for any follow up that you may need.

    West Hills College Concurrent Enrollment

    1. Student completes WHC application launching from

    2. Student logs into their WHC Portal to complete Agreement and Dual Enrollment Form.

    3. Form is emailed to their parent/guardian for approval.

    4. Form is emailed to the students high school counselor for approval.

    5. Completed form goes to WHCL staff for processing.
