We are so excited to be visited by our WASC Committee from March 18th-20th. Here is a brief video of what WASC is and a document for a process overview.

AP RECOGNITION ALERT! Every year CollegeBoard recognizes AP students who do exceptionally well on their tests. Join me in celebrating our AP Husky Scholars!
AP Scholars - Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
AP Scholars with Honor - Granted to students who receive an average score of 3.25 or higher on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
AP Scholars with Distinction - Granted to students who receive an average score of 3.5 or higher on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

Husky Published in Spring CADA Newsletter
Hanford West student Maddy Golden contributed an article to the CADA newsletter. Check out page 18 "A perspective from our youth ". ASB and HW are so proud of our students for sharing their experiences in a statewide submission.

ACCESS Program Deliveries
Our ACCESS Program under the direction of Mr. Luis Garcia delivered their final Husky Cart items for the school year to staff. They decorated mugs, painted paintings, and prepared and served our drinks. They also collected money and wrote receipts. We are proud to be able to give these students work/real-world experiences and serve our staff.

Graduation Ceremony Information
Thank you again to all of our seniors and their families who attended our meetings. A ParentSquare has been sent with the information, but here is also the PowerPoint with an update per the Board's amendment and approval. See slide title "Approved/Allowed Regalia" as it has been updated.

March PIN Information
After our March Husky Recognition, Ms. Mendes, our Assistant Principal, shared the Social-Emotional support we have on campus for our students with families in English and Spanish.

Husky Recognized in CADA Newsletter
Our Very Own Nadine P., a Current 10th Grader, Had an Article Published in the CADA Newsletter. CADA- California Association of Directors of Activities. Her Article Is on Page 21.

NJROTC WINS!
Our NJROTC brought home a trophy for the flag football competition. This is the first time in 6 years that we have brought home a trophy. GREAT JOB HUSKIES!

Cal All-State Honor Band Members
Four Hanford West Mighty Husky students auditioned and earned a spot in 1 of 4 All-State Ensembles. They competed against over 2,000 other students in all of California through a highly competitive online process. We are so proud of them, their courage to audition, and their hard work to earn these spots rightfully so. This is just another example of the amazing students we have at Hanford West. Way to represent, we are proud of you!!!

This week is National Counselor's Week. We celebrate all their hard work this week and every week.

November PIN Information
On Nov. 14th Ms. Mendes celebrated our Husky Way students and held another PIN meeting. She informed parents about the Pathways and leaving high school prepared and how getting students involved helps them leave Hanford West ready to take on college or a career.

Grade Level Presentations
On October 3rd, we met at each grade level and reviewed several topics that would help them be safe and successful while at Hanford West. Here is the presentation for your viewing pleasure. We had our administration team, as well as our school resource officer and our counselors, share this information with the students throughout the day. Students were well-behaved and receptive to the information. #hwhuskies #thehuskyway

HFD Teaches Med. Academy Students
A big thank you to Hanford Fire Department, Battalion Chief Rowe, Captain Mellon, and his crew for taking time out of their busy schedules to come to Hanford West and teach our Nursing Assistant students how to use a fire extinguisher and properly put out a fire. This is one of several skills that students have to master during the school year. Check out our Medical Academy tab under Academics for more pictures.

HW Alumni Speak at Career Day
On October 25th, our 9th and 10th graders were able to hear about the jobs of many HW Alumni. Thanks to our CTE Teachers for putting on a great event. An even bigger shout out to the HW Alumni that showed up and gave up their time. Once a Husky, Always a Husky. Please see the link of the guest speakers as we used their Senior Pictures.

October PIN Information
We also held our first Husky Honor Night where we recognized our students for demonstrating the Husky Way throughout the first grading period.
With that, we also held our first PIN- Parent Information Night. Here is the information we shared with our parents. Please view it. It covers ways to be a part of our Husky Family as well as keys to supporting your students while in high school.
